The Window Bird Feeder

We have a platform bird feeder attached to one of the kitchen windows  where E can watch the birds while she cooks. It turns out that our living room has a bay window allowing me to see it from the side without scaring the birds away. So I set of the tripod, got out the long lens and snapped away over the space of a couple days.

Today I am showing you a couple birds not found on the east coast. Above and below is a the Chestnut Backed Chickadee. Just like the Black-capped version on the east coast but with different colors.

Another frequent guest is the Oregon Junco (compare with the Dark-eyed Junco found on the east coast). This is another bird with cinnamon patch on his back.

These birds are common in our feeder. But there are other birds that like to really hog the food and we'll see them tomorrow.
