The arcades in Melbourne are always decorated for the season. It is just like being in, say, England, except it warm outside (and the accent is different, the age of the building is much younger, etc.).
The halls are filled with bustling people trying to shop and get things done in the days before the big event.
Even the alleyways are filled with people getting food and coffee.
Even here, where Christmas comes in the summer, things are still decorated with snowmen.
The Victorian designs of the buildings are evident here and really add to the holiday cheer.
Naturally, the holiday cheer is greatly enhanced by the very rich desserts for sale at the upscale bakery.
