Christmas Memories: Santa Fe

For some people, the holiday season is just another cold time of a cold season.

For those of us that are lucky, it is a time to be a in a warm place with friends and family enjoying good food.

Others see it a a season to sell crops from a hards years work.

In northern New Mexico, there is a strong mixture of the native beliefs and symbology with Christianity. How can you visit Santa Fe without seeing a cow skull?

By the Georgia O'Keeffe Museum is a small courtyard where visitors can sit and relax in the warmer months. On this day, with the snow and the lone ornament, we have a moment of solitude.

In spite of the light and bells and food and parties, this is also a time of quietness. It is a time to sit and think about the past and future and seek our angle of repose.

A crisp afternoon between snow showers is a good time to find a bence and drink in the colors, the light, and your happiness at simply being.

Although stopping for breakfast to get corn pancakes is pretty good, too!
