Sunshine on Water Drops

Much to my surprise, I found a spider web that survived the weeks of rain we've been having. This is perhaps the prettiest I seen in quite a while. Just o let you know how much rain we've had...since the middle of September the SeaTac airport has reported just shy of 20 inches with half of this coming in November.

For comparison, the small town of Forks on the far side of the Olympic peninsula between the Olympic mountains and the Pacific ocean, got a hair less than 30 inches in the same time period. One of the news reports here noted that this is what Las Vegas, NV gets in 13 years. Sometimes, when it rains, it pours.

Yet, this water does create some interesting effects getting trapped in the greenery and sparkling the sun.

There is something of a fractal nature to the drops on this evergreen. It seems that there are drops of every size in a self-similar way located all along the frond.

This hanging bit of ...well, I can't quite tell if this the end of a flower, the beginning of seeds, or something else altogether. Whatever this feature is, the water adds sparkle and interest. Hope you enjoy it.
