While there is nothing striking about this pile of stones (some sort of pumice, I suspect) they do capture the nature of beaches on Maui.
Besides, it seems like a good thing to contrast with the vastness of the ocean vistas available here.
I couldn't resist this collection of rocks that seemed to me to evoke the illusion of skulls piled up on the beach. The broken lava chips on the beach sand also suggest a recent violent action here. It is almost as if a war had occurred and here are the remains and debris from that event.
On the way back to the condo, I found more chickens. This time, the rooster was still on the scene keeping an eye over his hens. While chicken head and feet aren't much to look at, the feathers can be a real treat.
