It is amazing what one can find lying on the ground if the sun will only come out so you can see it. Even though it is months since these leaves were on a tree, it remains possible to find color and texture in the low-angled light on a winter's day.
It is no surprise that the grass is green I suppose. After all, we've had an "Ireland's worth" of water this winter. Maybe even last week... we keep having "atmospheric rivers" flowing over us. But with a nice light and a few fallen leaves, we can get a fun composition.
I am always fascinated to see where the moss will grow. Here in the sidewalk it grows among the spaces on the manhole cover. It is also interesting to see where these covers are made. On the east coast, it is often Indiana, Pennsylvania, or Alabama. In the PNW, it is always the PNW. Shipping costs for heavy things like this hunk of metal is just to much, so they are locally produced.
