I started to make the title of this post be "Back on Dry Land" but then I realized that there is no dry land here just now. For the second time in as many weeks, there are reports on the radio of houses, built on hills of now super-saturated soil have slid off of their foundations and trapped people and/or pets inside. A new thing to think about if we are offered a house sit in the northwest in winter in a fancy house sitting on a hill. Yikes!
The number of signs of the coming spring are growing. This tree has already put out significant buds for the spring explosion.
This variegated bush is also putting our new growth in anticipation of warmer days.
Yet, it is still easy to find the remnants of last summer lingering, waiting for the right time to fall away and pass the torch to the next generation.
