The scenes I could find on this cold morning walk really depend on exactly where I stand. A few feet on way or the other determines if the sun or the cold air is dominant in setting the stage. This tree was, or had been, more in the sun so the water is melted.
And when it runs down to the tips of the green and yellow needles, we get a fun display of water drops.
But these strawberry plants are still well into the shade and the frost on the leaves tells the tale.
When there are leaves with colors, the frosty surfaces look more like party favors or confetti than plant parts.
