Epiphytes Galore

In between rains (yes, that does happen), I try to get out for a walk. Some days the only things that catch my eye are the lowly lichens and mosses.

The first time since September when we had three days in a row where it did not rain was in January. Clearly, the lichens love this weather.

But everything is a competition in nature. The lichens cannot simply take over a limb without moss stormtroopers trying to take over the the place. 

With time, I'm sure the trees would all look like the top of this fence post.
