One of the houses a couple blocks from us is a converted church. In front are a few trees in what is now the sidewalk and these are surrounded by metal frames to protect them. You know how those church going hooligans are about running over trees, right? The tops of these heavy metal frames have these eyes in them, I presume for lifting them into place. Like everything else outside here, these have started a crop of moss.
A tree a bit farther along this walk has some really curly epiphytes growing on it. The coloration is subtle and interesting but the long, curly bits remind me of something you might see growing in a coral reef.
This rose bush, naked in its winter phase, has a drop of water collecting just on the thorn near the kink of the stem.
