A Few Things I've Noticed

I know that I just showed you one of these ornamentations on a neighbors fence, but this one has such a great spider's web on it hat I couldn't resist.

Normally, there are tons of spiders out and about this time of year. This year, not so much.

This has caused me to wonder if perhaps the lack of such a high traffic density as we've having during the isolation has shifted the weather patterns enough to matter. It is true that we are having real summer time weather here now...push near 80 degrees. Typical for this time of year is upper 60's give or take.

I wonder if the lack of aerosol in the air from vehicle exhaust combined with changing weather patterns due to global climate change have shifted the way things work. I recall that long ago, living on Long Island, we finally gave up and bought a television when we had sunny days all week and rain all weekend for about three months. This was related to the aerosols sent into the sky from all the traffic.

Just a thought. At any rate, as you can see, we have lots of blue sky. You can also see lots of wires dangling from the utility poles. This is something else you see frequently here. As I have noted, the only spaces clear of trees are streets. So these are also the place where utility wires go. Thus, even when a road is pointing is a direction where you can see the mountains, the view is cluttered with wires.

There is one really great place to see the Snohomish River valley and mountains beyond on a place called Seattle Hill. The reason you haven't seen any of these views here is two fold: first, there is no place to pull over to get out and make a photo, and second, the gap in the trees is filled with high voltage towers and crazy amount of wires everywhere. I don't have the skill or patience to remove all that in software.

Sometimes, what I find are very simple settings with straight lines and a bare color palette. This mailbox on the front fence of this house seems to show that these folks are aiming for basic and rainproof.
