A Day at the Beach

Like everyone else in the world, we are really tired of being at home and looking for any excuse to get out and any place to go. We decided this weeked to make a family outing to Edmonds to the beach at Brackett's Landing. Normally, it is a narrow beach but today with the significant low tide, it was a wide, if messy, one.

We found a place well away from the other folks out in the sunshine and sat on some well-bleached logs that had been washed ashore at some point in the past.

Down by the water's edge, are some pylons that would normally be underwater. These made an interesting sort of foreground for a view across the sound.

So, here in the northwest, there are only two styles for children going to beach. The one Seamus chose with his shorts and boots, or to simply throw caution to the wind and go barefooted. No matter the season, there always seem to be at least a few with sandals or barefooted out wadering the beach.

Among the seaweed, along what is normally the sea floor, we find such small wonders as this rock with some sort of creature calling it home on the top.

Stay tuned, more to come on this outing.
