Continuing north on Hwy 17, we come to Banks Lake. This is a man-made lake with water pumped out of the Columbia river. It is long and large and quite impressive.
There are so many places where water runs out of a crack in the wall and stains it much lighter than the surrounding wall rock. These spots make dramatic reflections in the still water.
Here's another one showing starkly on the dark stone in the distance.
At the north end of this dreamland of stone and water is the Grand Coulee Dam that makes all this water diversion possible.
