The advantage of a cloudy day (of which we have many here in the PNW) is that the exposure of the photos is much easier. For example, the flower above is uniformly illuminated and nicely exposed. It also helps that I got the focus right.
This demure blossom shows off its delicate colors and textures in this light with no over or under exposures.
This portrait of a local cat (with hair still hanging from his mouth from a recent grooming session) works well in this soft light.
It is always good to catch a dandelion in context. This one is hiding behind a bright yellow flower acting all shy and everything. We know better. This is really a terrorist in waiting. Lurking about for just the right moment to bomb the neighborhood with it s demon seed.
No walk in the PNW is complete with a look at something that evergreen.
