Diamond Point

My apologies for the out of focus photo above. It was the best I could do as this immature bald eagle was on the wing. The attraction was something in the water. It also attracted lots of other hungry birds.

We made a visit to Diamond Point, a small community not far from Sequim. There we spied a commotion in the water just offshore. The eagle was there trying to snag some food. The other birds are mostly seagulls. What makes this spot in the sea interesting is that seems to be a dead fish here that all the birds are feeding on.

The waves in the water makes it hard to seem much about what is there getting all the attention.

But occasionally, there is just a bit of the creature seen about the waves and we can tell that something is getting consumed.

Even the cormorants are curious.

But the scavenger gulls are very aggressive and have driving everyone else away.
