Harlequin Ducks

On our flat, nearly sunless day we found some Harlequin ducks out looking for lunch.

These are handsome ducks with their blue and white making along with the occasional red accent.

As usual the males are brightly colored and the females are a dull brown.

In the image below, we see the full plumage on parade.

Here's a male just before he makes another dive for food.
