In the river next to the sandpiper we saw in the posts yesterday, we found a couple red breasted mergansers. They make a handsome pair.
Mergansers always look a bit startled with their eyes wide open and so brightly colored.
Another brightly colored bird we found is the American Yellow Warbler. These are quite striking birds.
He came out to perch on this bare limb and pose for us.
I suspect that he's looking about for something to eat.
Or perhaps he's just posing for the camera, eh?
