Votivkirche, Part II

It is a huge place. On this day, I was nearly alone here. You can almost imagine how, at night, without the light filling all the windows, this can seem a much cosier place.

If I have pick one word to describe this place, it would be "muted". In the painted below the colors are muted; the ornamentation, the chandeliers, and the design (except for sheer size) are all muted.

As you can see in the chandelier below, it is pretty complex, but there is nothing there that draws the eye. No colors, no shiny bits, no gold. Just a basic light fixture for a very large space.

But, I have to admit that there are some impressive stained glass windows here.

I'm quite sure that this place brought glory to the Emperor and perhaps to God as well.
