Bosque del Apache

No trip to the Albuquerque area would be complete without a visit to Bosque del Apache to see a few birds. While we always seems to get to place around midday with finding birds is not ideal, we did see some. For example, the Greater Yellowlegs you see above.

One of the more interesting birds here is the glossy ibis. If you recall, I got a few shots of them at the Richland Wildlife Refuge, but here in the bright sun, I was able to get a clearer look at the colors.

There is an iridescence that make the colors hard to discern in any lighting. Hence the name 'glossy'.

These are indeed strangely colored birds.
