Our next stop is Baker City, OR. Here we have a sit with two kitties in this interesting little town on the Oregon Trail. Sitting in a semi-arid area, there is lots (and lots!) of cattle grown here. More on this in a later post.
Just east of town, on the other side of I-84, we find a dirt road called Ruckles Creek Road. It turned out to be an interesting place to see some wildlife. For example, this pika is making himself small because we are nearby.
There is a small lake/pond along the creek and there are these Cinnamon Teals cruising about in search of food.
We found another pika, this one alert to any danger headed his way. Of course, he was looking in another direction and seemed to not pay much attention to me at the time.
The high point today is the blue bird I found sitting on a barbed wire fence.
He even scratched his chin for me.
