A Last Look at the Canyonlands

As we move further into this section of the park, the land is a lighter shade of red and, while just as barren and forbidding, feels less alien.

Yet, this is a magical place. There is space here for ideas and imagination. It is kind of place where through the act of looking out at the landscape, you soon find yourself looking inward. Not a location to have such a deep look inside when it is dark.

It is a place to take a deep breath and be glad that you are fully vaccinated, that you and your family are healthy, and you are standing on the edge of the world without the constant sounds of home of city in your ears. The number of places where we can hear only natural sounds for minutes at a time are getting fewer everyday. Such places are to be cherished.

A place of wonder and delight, among other things. If you haven't been here already, visit. If you have, I hope these images helped jog a few memories of your time on the ledge looking out across this strange world.
