My Christmas Present to Myself

We have installed a shed in which I can have a bit of space for my projects and tools. E is delighted to have all that stuff out of the bedroom. When Anna walked out to see it when it was all complete, she remarked that it seemed bigger on the inside than the outside. Thus, I've dubbed it the tardis since it also shares this remarkable property.

Once the metal floor joists were in place and the flooring installed, the walls went up very quickly.

The walls came as completed units and only required attaching to the floor and each other. As you can see the insulation is already in place.

Once the walls are up, the windows are installed in the openings, the roof rafters are put in place and the metal roof added.

These are a few images of its early construction. The young man you see facing the camera in the image below seems to be Russian or from some country nearby. He got frequent phone calls and spoke in a language that to my ear, sounded Russian.

A few hours and the entire thing is done and dusted. I've start moving things in from the bedroom (E says Yea!) and from our storage facility. The roof is 10-12' high and there is overhead storage so we can get a fair bit of what we are paying to store in this place and either move to smaller storage place or maybe even get rid of it altogether. We'll see.
