As the number of flowers to see continues to decrease, I look for colors and textures in the leaves. There are leaves on the ground across the street and have a few interesting compositions.
This leaf shows the black mould on the leaf as it decays back to tree food for the next season.
I like the subtle gradation between red and golden yellow on the leaf as it sits on the bright green grass.
I thought this leaf was interesting. It seems the color change requires direct exposure to the sun. It appears that this bi-color leaf was once partially hidden for a while and some is red and some is still green. It is striking how straight the transition line is between the two regions.
