Finding Curious Plant-y Bits

In spite of the lateness of the season, there are still some small flowers to be found. Although, to be sure, we've seen flowers that look fresher.

These leaves are really strange. They seem to keep the green color and simply add a background of red so that parts are only red and other parts are red and green.

Nothing particularly strange about this tree. It is just a nice waterfall of leaves (leaf-fall?) glowing in the afternoon sun.

This bush is really quite striking from a distance with the blizzard of yellow and red mixed in infinite variety. But up close, we still see the wide range of colors. It is a kind of biological fractal. On all scales, we see the same behaviour.
