Red and green are nature's favorite colors for fall here. Some trees do both colors in a burst of berries among the leaves.
Other trees have found a way to put red and green together on the same leaf.
Some leaves, like the ones below, are spread out on the grass like so many children that have fallen over in exhaustion after a vigorous chase.
This interesting tree eschews the green altogether and instead puts our seed of a pale yellow color to add a fun texture to the hanging leaves.
And we can always count on the holly tree to specialize in the red/green display.
