Rather than retype all the information on the sign at the entrance to the Port Gamble historic Buena Vista Cemetery, I thought I'd just photograph the sign and let you read it directly.
This is one of the better cemeteries we've visited. There are no recent burials here, only those from 100 years ago or more.
As you can catch a glimpse of in the background, it is well named with its views of the surrounding sound.
As is the case with so many of the gravestones in Australia, these are mostly engraved with the birthplace of the interred along with the location and/or cause of death.
This cemetery also is the final resting place for many children as well. The lamb on the top of the stone is mostly eroded away, but the sentiment remains.
