We have new neighbors behind us. They moved in in March. One of their additions to their property is this rose bush. I think the color is quite remarkable.
Out beside 4st street, these tiny flowers are in bloom. In the bright sun they show off their red and yellow colors quite well. It is also a good time to remind everyone that as we move toward the winter season and the days get shorter, the sun will also spend an increasing amount of time low in the sky. Thus, except for a few hours, say between 10 and 1 or 2, the lighting will usually look like it is earlier or later than it really is. This image is an example of that.
Also on that same corner is a sunflower that is clearly past its prime.
I took a different route on this walk, one that took me across the Pilchuck river which you will see here tomorrow. Once across the river, we are in the countryside. First stop was a flower farm with a small farm stand out front selling their wares. This collection was on a post out front as advertisement.
So many pretty flowers to enjoy. So little time left in the season.
