Non-Living Things

You've seen so many images of flowers from around the neighborhood, I thought that today, I show some things. Non-living bits.

Sometimes by looking at the small, unnoticed, common things around us we can consider out place in the world a little differently. The spots of rust on the fire hydrant plug tells a story of use that wears off the paint. Were there for tests or fires?

A mailbox that has rusted over time speaks to the residents and the time this box has been here. Do they just not care about the mailbox or is money too tight to make an upgrade?

This water pipe has a faded red cover. How many years in the meager sun of Seattle must a painted plate and unpainted, rusted connects be in the weather to reach this point.

More rust on this chain to tell of its time in just this position.

And, perhaps, the oldest of all the things on offer today is the buckles that hold the cables stabilizing the local power/phone lines.

Entropy is a bitch.
