I really like the way the modest extension of the exposure time gives the water a painterly look as if the artists brush strokes were made visible. In the image above, there is a transition from the fixed or nearly still things in the shallows to the motion of the waves in deeper water that accentuates this effect as one looks upward in the image.
On many of the beaches there are rocks everywhere you look. Since we seem to be here at low tide, this much be a treacherous place at high tide with more of the hazards hidden.
Of course, the birds live the higher reaches. You can tell from the staining of the rocks near the top that the birds have been here roosting for quite a while.
The mist swirls and flows all around the sea stacks and rocks to give this softer look around the edges. The birds live in a constantly damp ocean of air and sea water painted with poop on the top surfaces.
