Yaquina Head - II

The headlands here have trails and parking lots for people to be able to explore the flora and fauna of the environment. And there is a section of the ocean surrounding it that is also protected to give the sea creatures a chance at flourishing as well.

Here you can see how on a sunny, relatively calm day, there can be the constant noise of wave breaking on the shore.

With careful positioning, I can bring you an image of the lighthouse and avoid the people wandering about the bases.

From this position, you can see the rocky beach and the shallow waters where the seals were feeding that I showed you yesterday.

This lighthouse is sometimes open for tours. It is OK that we missed that opportunity since we were neither one interested in climbing all the stairs to the top.

Near the base of the point on which the lighthouse stands are prominent rocks that serve as home to the many sea birds that live and feed here.
