As the sun rose higher and it got warmer, the little ones began to slow down. Our last stop as the field of sunflowers.
The bees were still busy on them since the weather was still warm enough for them to operate. there was also still new growth showing up the field.
Plenty of colors to be seen here besides just yellow and green.
As the flowers begin to open, there is a sinister look to the dark leaves pulling back to allow the petals to emerge.
But, as is often the case, life wins out and bess in the sunshine give us a great place to end this adventure.
