More Sea Stacks

This large close-to-shore formation of rock has clearly taking quite a beating over the eons here. You'll notice that the ocean has punched a keyhole at the bottom and, surprisingly, also nea the top. I suppose there were a couple softer spots in the stone that wore down more quickly.

Other stone outcroppings are lone sentinels that seem to be there just to make the shore line treacherous.

These next two appear to be stealing a march on the beach in an effort to win some war that I cannot even see as it proceeds at its glacial pace.

The salty air seems not to bother the conifers as they push back against the shore line in an effort to hold on against the encroaching sea.
