Museum of Flight, Seattle

Not far south of central Seattle is a large portion of the Boeing complex and here we find the Museum of Flight. Lots of cool airplanes and spacecraft are to be found here. We took the grandkids for an outing and everyone had a good time.

Above is a replica of the Wright brothers plane. Note that the roller at the front on the bottom is the hub of a bicycle wheel.

Dilly and the grandkids are off to see other planes on display.

Here, we are examining some models made to show how a jeep was converted into a plane.

There is most of a shuttle here as well. The wings and heat resistant tiles are removed, but the main fuselage is here and there are parts you can walk into. Seamus really liked the space suit.

In a different section of the museum we find the WWII planes. Below, Charlie is checking out the corsair that is on display. The scene sort of reminded me of the Tiananmen Square standoff. The plane clearly has no idea what force of nature it is confronting.
