A Lighthouse in the Mist

The clouds and mist give this simple beach scene an ominous look...like something out of a Stephen King novel as the evil thing approaches shore.

But here we find a small lighthouse nestled on the side of the hill just across the way trying to warn the intrepid sailor of the looming danger hidden in the marine layer.

Here's the same view again. Only this time I caught the lighthouse shining in my direction just let you know that it was indeed doing its job. Also the light in this image is a little different as the fog comes and goes.

Adjusting the white balance, I got a shot of the surf that looks like late afternoon.
