We found another hungry merganser shopping for lunch. This one caught a fish.
When you are sitting in cold water and it is raining off and on, you're holding an equally cold fish in your mouth...what does it taste like? Do you think, " Oh goody, this is yummy!"?
However, this bird clearly understands that holding the fish out of water is the way to kill it.
The next step is to rinse it...
...and then it is gone. Time to find more food.
