A Few of the Various Stages of Plants

 As you've seen here before this winter, many plants are already preparing for the short, cool summer in this part of the world.

Some, like the one below, just change colors for the season so they can bounce back to full production quickly.

Others seem to produce pods for nascent blooms that will be ready at the right time to burst forth. I'm quite sure that I'll still be pounding this beat when that time comes and will be able to document that event.

This one is putting out new growth apparently in spite of the rampant lichens on the bark.

But other trees, just throw in the towel for the season and I find these lone reminders of the annual changes lying on a bench.
