Flowers and a Larger Scale

Since about this time every year, Skagit Valley tulip growers host a festival, we thought we'd drive up and see if there were any to be found in the fields. We found very few compared to previous years. The field above is the only collection of tulips we could find.

We did find a couple of fields of daffodils getting a bit long in the tooth. As you can see the flowers in this field are not strictly yellow anymore, but tending toward brown.

Even though the rows are straight and the plants are green, the flowers are looking a little sad.

This field of daffodils is quite brown. You can also see the dust swirling from the tractor in the distance giving you a notion of how dry it is out here. We've had very little rain this month.
