A Trip to Augusta Springs

Another blast from the past today.

Back in March of 2008, we drove out to Augusta Springs to the park there to see if we see a few birds. There is pond there and, naturally, there are a few ducks swimming about.

One of the more interesting finds was this Downy Woodpecker. He was perched on this small branch and posing for me.

The pond also had a few geese because Canada Geese are everywhere on the east coast and why wouldn't we have a few. Even though they are everywhere, they are still handsome birds.

And finally, we have this Eastern Wood Peewee posing for us.

A small park with a boardwalk around the backside that makes a nice circuit on a Saturday or Sunday morning. I encourage those of you in Virginia to drive out for a bit of isolation fresh air. There is even a paved parking lot.
