Not all the flying machines in the museum are from times long ago. This helicopter is of Vietnam vintage and really opens the memory doors for those who were there and those of us who watched it on TV.
The design is minimal and efficient. Enough to keep you from cutting yourself on exposed metal but not enough for comfort. A nice complement to the terror I'm sure everyone felt when ride this into or out of danger.
Other planes remember the mail and communication services to places otherwise inaccessible.
