The Large and Small

Here where the climate is cool and rainy, we get a fairly long season in which to enjoy the tulips.

But this also means that we get lots of smaller, ground-hugging flowers to enjoy as well.

And some of these smaller flowers are just as vibrant as their larger cousins. It just takes a little more effort to find them and squat to photograph them.

But it is indeed difficult to find a more arresting view that looking down the throat of a mature tulip with all its sexy bits on display amid the glorious display of colors that nature can bring to bear.
