Stockton is about an hour away and has a fascinating Buddhist Temple, the Wat Dhammararam. There are acres of statues, about 100 of them, most in brilliant colors to grab your attention. Generally, they tell the story of the life of Siddhartha and his transformation to be the Buddha. Individually, I am much less certain about what they are. Signs, such as there are, are in Cambodian and unintelligible to me.
These monkeys are getting the full use of their prehensile tails.
I'm really not sure what this scene is depicting but it is sure scary. It is not often you got to temple/church and see figures being eaten by crocodiles and sharks.
Whoever is on the raised seat is clearly not a friend of these fellows with their bows drawn.
And this guy on his elephant is not in a good mood. All-in-all a pretty terrifying scene.
