After checking all the groceries and run-ins around here, I've come to the conclusion there are no liquor stores around here. So we did some searching and decided to drive to Lodi. Naturally, we had to see something besides the inside of a liquor store so we stuck our heads in the train station.
Outside the station is the well-known arch with the golden bear on top telling us we are in Lodi.
Our search for a respectable liquor store went only slightly better here. Our second stop took me to a place that I'll probably not return to but happened to have one bottle of a Balvenie scotch that is quite good. Our drive was not in vain.
On the way back home we stopped by a roadside stand and bought some cherries. Not far from this stop, we found a field with several tractors sitting in it. These seemed to be related to some sort of display of old farm equipment nearby. They certainly did not seem to have any other purpose in the pasture.
This is how the central valley of California has looked for several generations now. Blue skies, brown grass, and farm equipment.
