This is the town located at the meaty part of ground zero for the gold rush, Sutter Creek. There is a large hall for the Native Sons of the Golden West.
And what is now a shopping arcade. Lots of stores here to visit and spend money in.
We cruised the sidewalks for a while to get the flavor of the place. Plenty of people about as well. The governor has lifted the mask mandate as of the 15th of June and the crowds are very mixed with those that do and do not continue to wear them. We still wear ours.
