Chinese Camp - II

I thought the combination of a modern street "stop" warning along with the older house that appears to have a rail at the front for tying up horses made a nice juxtaposition.

Often in an older place, the details are as interesting as the big picture.

Seeing the result of unarrested building decay brings sadness. We think of all the lives lived here and the halcyon days when the paint was fresh, the windows clean, and the air was filled with sounds of children playing and adults managing to succeed.

Nearby, there are now pastures and barns. A mixture of old and new(-ish) fence posts holds the wire that surrounds this barn. It seems to have been painted in at least this century.

This one is older and much less well tended. The horses and men, sweat and blood seen here tells the stories of those who helped grow this part of California.
