B&W Retrospective

Seems like a good time to revisit some recent photos and explore them in monochrome. A few of the images from our trip north of town benefit from the conversion. This bush is just putting on it's wet-season clothes. The clouds, the photogenic star of the day, brings drama to this seasonal event.

But there are plenty of bushes about that still haven't started the change. These make a nice counterpoint to the massive cloud floating overhead. I like the asymmetry the cactus provides.

The sky again dominates the next image. Something very calming about the lone cactus and the silent clouds.

The buttermilk sky over these layered hills makes an image that tells lot of stories. The dark cactus in the field remind me of soldiers marching to assault the hill.

Whatever patterns you see in these images, they do capture the feel of the desert on a cloudy day.
