Cookng Lesson

We enjoyed a delightful evening with Bernardo and Hilda as they taught us to cook some very tasty dishes. Here you see Bernardo stirring the chilled avocado in preparation to putting it in the fridge.

To lubricate the cooking experience, we were provided with rosemary margaritas. A combination of unexpected but delicious flavors.

Our appetizer was chiles stuffed with chorizo, shrimp, and cheese. In spite of what you might guess, these are mild peppers and the combination was outstanding.

Bernardo celebrates the flavors of the margarita and roasted garlic.

While preparations continue for the main dish of fish in a tomato, garlic, onion, olive, caper, and pepper sauce, lively conversation and liberal imbibing ensued.

Hilda climbed onto the kitchen counter to snag a few photos.

She took a shot with my camera as well. Except for Hilda behind the camera and Elizabeth just out of the frame beside me, this is all of us.

Conversation continued over dinner. At the time we compared the experience to Babette's Feast and it was very much like that. New friends, excellent food, and great conversation...this is the way to spend an evening.

It was such an event, that everyone wanted to be part of it.

An evening to remember. When you are next in La Paz, visit Hilda and Bernardo for a feast for the tummy and the mind. Babbette's got nothing on this meal.
