St. Stephen's - III

Above is one of the side aisles, more brightly lit from the expansive windows than the center aisle.
Below is the Wiener Neustadt Altar which dates from 1447. It is made from the older components for the St. Bernard's Cistercian monastery in Wiener Neustadt. It was brought to St. Stephan's in 1883. It sits in the Woman's Nave on the north side of the main altar. There is a larger top section with doors on either side and smaller, lower section, also with doors. When open (as shown), the bottom depicts scenes from Mary's life. When closed, it shows scenes from Christ's life. The middle portion of lower part has small windows that once held relics for the faithful to view on high holy days. When closed, the upper section shows images of 72 saints. When open (as shown), there is a series of images dedicated to Mary.

This is one of the many altars in the cathedral whose details I can produce just now.

Sitting over the entryway is the organ loft contains the old main organ. This name implies that there is anew main organ and indeed there is.

I'm not sure, but I think this is the console for the old main organ.

And this is the new main organ.
