Applied Folk Art Museum

Between the Buda Castle and the Danube is a small museum that displays folk art. Not sure why "applied" is in the name, but it does have some quite interesting items to see.

These...well, I don't know what they are except pretty...items...are apparently made from wheat. This museum clearly doesn't get many tourists to visit. Not only was there no signage in english, there was almost no signs at all.

Some bits look like the sort of corn dolls that one might see in parts of the US.

Others, such as this dress and blouse, are styled after Hungarian traditional dress.

But the embroidery is, for my money, the outstanding category to be see here.

The collection of textiles and the designs on them is impressive. And just as in the case of so many women dying their hair red, red is the dominant color in these designs (although you do see blue, as well).

This one, in a more muted sort of tea-color, is exceptionally delicate and beautiful.
