St. Sebastian's Church, Pécs

After a week of exchanging emails with the software company, I finally have a solution (or a bit of workaround) for getting processed images out of the program and posted to the blog. So, now we go back a bit in time to finish our visit to Pécs.

Just off the Széchenyi Ter is St. Sebastian's Church.

It is an unassuming building from the outside, but inside, it gets more interesting. It is not Baroquely ornate, but it does have it's own sense of glamour.

The main altar is enveloped in some fine wood and paintings.

Not reading Hungarian, I can't really tell you what this side altar is about, but it is a nice one.

The ceiling decorations are modest and elegant. The organ loft is airy and light with the large windows up high.

The central ceiling is adorned with the colorful plaques showing parts of the story that the church is here to tell.

This altar has a bits of gold to and silver to add to the rich colors of the wood.

A handsome church and well worth the visit.
