Palau de la Generalitat
The Palau de la Generalitat is the seat of the Valencian government. Part of it is open as a museum.
This building was begun in 1421. The staircase in this image dates from 1525.
Upstairs there are various sorts of meeting and reception rooms. It was difficult for me to really understand what was I was looking at since the signage was only in Spanish (and possibly Valencian and/or Catalan). So, let's just enjoy the intricate ceilings and walls.
I would find it hard to concentrate in a room with such an intricate ceiling overhead.
But the really amazing room is the this one. On the walls are paintings for various groups of government and religious leaders.
The carvings in the ceiling are really detailed and intricate.
Although the style is quite different from the churches, it is still very impressive.
